Frequent Questions

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and discuss what brings you to therapy. I'll ask about your current concerns, your goals, and any relevant background information. This is also your chance to ask questions about the therapy process and see if we're a good fit. There's no pressure—this initial consultation is about creating a comfortable space where you can share openly. From there, we'll work together to develop a plan that addresses your specific needs and supports your growth.

Yes, I offer both options to provide flexibility and accessibility. In-person sessions are held at my office in Upland, and telehealth sessions are available throughout California via secure video platform. Many clients appreciate being able to choose what works best for their schedule, comfort level, and circumstances. Both formats are equally effective, and we can discuss which option might be right for you during your consultation.

I work with adults, adolescents, and children facing a range of emotional and relational challenges. This includes individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions, as well as couples seeking to improve their relationship and families wanting to strengthen communication and connection. I also provide parenting support for those navigating challenges with their children. My approach is collaborative and tailored to each person's or family's unique situation and goals.

I use evidence-based, trauma-informed approaches that are proven to support healing and growth. Depending on your needs, I may integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and EMDR for trauma processing. Rather than sticking to just one method, I adapt my approach to what will be most helpful for you. We'll discuss which techniques might support your goals and adjust as needed throughout our work together.

The length of therapy varies greatly depending on your goals, the issues you're addressing, and your personal progress. Some people find relief in a few months, while others benefit from longer-term support. We'll regularly check in about your progress and adjust our plan as needed. There's no predetermined timeline—therapy continues as long as it's helpful and meaningful to you. My goal is to provide support for as long as you need it.

Yes, confidentiality is a cornerstone of therapy and is protected by law. What you share with me stays private, with a few important exceptions required by California law: if there's a risk of harm to yourself or others, suspected abuse or neglect of a child or vulnerable adult, or if records are subpoenaed by a court. I take your privacy seriously and maintain HIPAA-compliant practices for all communication and record-keeping. We'll discuss confidentiality in detail during your first session.

My office hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and I see clients by appointment only. To schedule your first session, you can contact me via the contact form in this website. I offer a free consultation so we can discuss your needs and determine if we're a good fit before committing to ongoing sessions. I'll work with you to find appointment times that fit your schedule.

I accept debit cards, credit cards, and CashApp for payment. We'll discuss fees and payment during your initial consultation so you have clear information upfront. This allows you to make an informed decision about moving forward with therapy. If you have questions about costs or payment arrangements, please don't hesitate to ask when you contact me.

Therapy for children is tailored to their developmental level and uses age-appropriate techniques. While adults typically engage in talk therapy, children often benefit from play-based approaches, creative activities, and interactive methods that help them express feelings they may not yet have words for. I create a safe, comfortable environment where children can process their experiences naturally. Parents are typically involved in the process through regular updates and guidance on how to support their child's progress at home.

If you're struggling with emotional challenges, relationship difficulties, or life stressors that feel overwhelming or persistent, therapy can provide valuable support. You don't need to be in crisis to benefit—many people seek therapy to build coping skills, gain insight, or navigate transitions. The best way to find out if therapy is right for you is to schedule a free consultation. We can discuss your concerns, answer your questions, and help you decide if this is the right step for you.
